  • @MarkD I did follow that KB, to wit: I created the address objects for the three URLs and the NTP server and placed them in an exception group. Learned much later that failures were because that address group was not ALSO included in the DPI/SSL exception list (although there was no indication of any failure or squawk in…
  • @mtuma5672 do yourself a favor and call the Support line (and I really don't like saying this). But that will be the fastest way of getting this situation resolved.
  • @mtuma5672 What - specifically - are the access point models that don't have the necessary IP addresses? APs can either be handled by the SonicWall UTM or by WNM. You must choose one - it cannot be both! So in your case: who/what is handling those APs?
  • Sorry that I'm late to the party about this problem. My NOC reviews patches for a week after they are released and found these warnings: KB5018410 Breaks SSL VPN https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/1046907/kb5018410-breaks-ssl-vpn.html…
  • While you are waiting for their response, here's one last-ditch suggestion: If you have been using Chrome, try to do this with Firefox. I'm not sure what the coding difference is behind the scenes, but in the past they've been substantial.
  • Nah, nothing so drastic. But, you don't get to have dinner and it's straight to your room for the evening...
  • Did you follow this guideline (even if your firmware version is different) for backing the configuration file? And did you select the Full Config option? If not, then please retry. Otherwise, open a case with Support to determine what is not working properly.
  • @BOSullivan Ah, well Tim was only half right. You cannot disable the main administrative account. You can - and should - change the default "admin" name to something else.
  • @MartinB123 looks like you are going to have to open a Support Case for this (and not hold your breath for a quick solution). Good luck, you're going to need it.
  • According to the Release Notes - back in January 2022, 2.3.3 - they wrote: Device Management for Backup: When creating a backup schedule, NSM allows to select all the devices in the inventory for backup. If you can only select five devices, do you get an error message at the sixth one or does the UI simply not let you…
  • According to this KB article, you might not have the correct settings. What happens when you use? Local Device IP Address: 192.168.1.20 SonicWall Default IP Address: 192.168.1.254
  • @A_Elliott - I concur with Tim. The only way this particular error message is going to be fixed is if you open a Support Case and document the steps you took leading up to it, and include the screenshot. It may - or may - not be pursued as a problem by the support team. If it does not, then your next step would be to…
  • Fascinating! This is a firewall that has been operating for about 1 year and 6 months. Are you saying that this is the up-time - meaning, without a reboot - of this device? If so, with the frequency of firmware updates, I don't think very many of us have run a device for as long a period of time without a reboot. I'm…
  • Well, I'll be! According to the 641 GS, you should be able to control the device via the firewall. (I'm thinking now only the soon-to-be released 621 are WNM only). If you followed those setup instructions as written and the AP is not showing up, my suggestion (if you haven't done this already) is to reset it to Factory…
  • @MSISupport it is my understanding that the new 600 series SonicWaves can only be managed by WCM, and not the firewall. That is a significant constraint and one reason I won't be using these new devices for the foreseeable future (if ever). The only option I see for your situation is to recreate the profiles you intended…
