  • @nsky_aes Oh boy. You have to click ON the device to select it. Once you do, the details appear in the window on the right, and you'll be able to click the Next button. Sadly, the list doesn't render properly in Firefox: What's new in v4.32.0 SonicOS 7.0.1-5095 firmware support. Validation checks for source firmware…
  • I didn't time my TZ270W but it was longer than I anticipated. OTOH I just updated two client TZ600's and was remotely connected to each server. It took one minute for the remote connection to dissolve, but only 5 more minutes before the session was restored and I was able to access the firewall. Faster than expected.
  • @TKWITS I was going to install the new firmware later today to find out if it fixed this problem.
  • Commentary I am shocked at the number of obsolete SonicWall devices that are still actively deployed. I know that several years ago - pre-pandemic - there was a concerted effort to contact owners. @MustafaA @TonyA what is being done now to reach out and get the owners of obsolete hardware to upgrade?
  • Suggest you get up to the current firmware release, SonicOS 7.0.1-5095-R3599, and see if issues remain. There are some very strange instances of this kind of thing going on. I'm told they should be resolved by the next 7.0.x release. I'll believe that when it happens.
  • @sdeyoung - what firmware are you running on these?
  • Received a note from the CSR regarding my frequently incapacitated TZ270W yesterday: I went through the logs and I was not able to find any stack trace related to the reboot in the console logs and also the core dump is not generated, the logs are not showing it and it may have just been a spike in traffic at that time or…
  • I am definitely going to bring this up during next week's webinar (SonicWall Partner Support 101 Basics & Advanced).
  • I am sorry I cannot answer your question, but have a comment and a question of my own. The TZ215 went out of service (end of life) two and a half years ago - August 2020. How is it no one has replaced this with a currently supported model?

  • I'm going to assume those PCs are supposed to get their IP address via DHCP. If so, how have you configured the DHCP for those PCs? That step is not included in the agreed upon answer above.
  • Just to chime in now that you've provided context. As stated, there is no (meaning zero) point in changing internal network IP addresses. Whatever IP address you end up (randomly) assigning still has to be associated with a MAC address. Those addresses are constant, so there's no advantage through this misguided attempt at…
  • What device(s) do you have plugged into that X2 port on the firewall?
  • @pcit_2023 - OK, I'll bite. Why do you - or someone you work for - want to do this? What purpose is this supposed to achieve? I'm curious.
  • @mervyn - SonicWall has the guidelines regarding device transfer clearly identified at the start of this KB article: If you know the previous owner of the device, get them to start the process. If you do not, then must rely on SonicWall to conduct their attempts. However, if these prove unsuccessful you won't be able to…
  • In the middle of a Lenovo Teams meeting presentation my TZ270W decided to reboot. No Core dump file shown in diagnostics. Case 44141281 was "pending close" with the note that this problem is supposed to be fixed in the next firmware release. That day won't come soon enough!
