  • @NickZhang - I appreciate the details about how to get out of DHCP mode, and I started wondering why I didn't do that, because I like to know the IP addresses of my devices. I double-checked and the page reminded me: "Mesh isn't supported on NAT mode device." Got it!
  • My view on NSM is simple (and I've posted enough rants to warrant advice to tone it down): If you manage only a handful of devices, and have no requirement for any analytics, there is simply no need to use this product. However, if you have a large, dispersed fleet - either at one client site or multiple sites - then it…
  • @dpatten I have configurations that use both methods. In a warehouse that already had a TZ350, I added 4 APs to handle WiFi for barcode devices to scan inventory. The APs were configured in the firewall because that provides the backbone of the network and assigning the proper zones and configurations was, well, easy. For…
  • You haven't really provided much information. Are you managing the AP from a firewall or from the cloud (Wireless Network Manager)? If the firewall, you can go into the DHCP Server Settings at set the Lease Scope to issue a static IP based on the AP's MAC address. If using WNM (without a firewall) I don't think there is…
  • @Ankur what @TKWITS is saying is that he employs a "belt and suspenders" approach to documenting cases. In addition to the email reply, he adds the text as a Comment directly in the case. I've done the same at times where responses from the CSR have been less than helpful. And like him - especially recently - I have not…
  • Well the issue has been resolved. Although, in typical SonicWall fashion, nothing was ever posted as a problem and nothing was announced about a resolution. I'm learning to dislike the opaque nature of support regarding "point" updates to MySonicWall. HOWEVER, in the interests of praising that which is warranted, SonicWall…
  • I added this comment directly in the case yesterday: Still need to understand. When GAV reports this: Gateway Anti-Virus Status: CloudAV Detection. File forwarding to Sandbox truncated for: http://update.itsupport247.net/AGTU/AgtHealthChk/DPMA/NumHostidTxt.zip, filename: NumHostidTxt.zip. Does that mean that…
  • Unfortunately my device is listed as "Managed" and the list of discrepancies is HUGE! Opened Case 43705127 to see if someone knows the best means of getting this resolved.
  • @Saravanan - more than a week later and it seems that getting the Cloud ID and why files were flagged is still a mystery. Case 43698747 is still open and I had to deliver the computer to the client despite knowing that it was not properly set up. My vendor believes that SW hit their code with a slew of false positives, but…
  • I don't normally look at the Comit process. I just kick it off and close the browser. I expect the process to continue to work in the background. But I looked at the list of "sync" discrepancies between NSM and Local and it seems that this hasn't been working for a long time, which is probably why this commit failed. I'm…
  • Updated to ask the following: Where do I go to determine what caused this to fail? Am I now forced to go back to "normal" and update the device directly (and usurp the Config mode)?
  • Yes, I did get a call from someone at SW. And the answer is: There is NO automated mechanism to do this. You need to have both the old and new WNMs up on two different screens, and manually re-create the settings - then move the devices. Here's hoping the "in place" CSC to NSM migration avoids this nonsense...
  • @shiprasahu93 what's the next step here?
  • Datto is not on the list either - and they just released their new WiFi-6 APs earlier this month. The older models are all out in the field...
  • Step 1 instructs you to select the firewall. That means pulling down the list from the drop-down on the right. Or are you saying after having done that nothing appears?
